Digital Flipbook Media for Indonesian Language Learning: A PRISMA-Based Systematic Literature

The rapid digital transformation in education has increased the demand for innovative instructional media, particularly in Indonesian language learning, where conventional print-based materials remain widely used. This study aimed to examine the feasibility and effectiveness of flipbook-based learning media through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA framework. A total of 25 articles published in SINTA- and Scopus-indexed journals were systematically selected and analyzed. The findings indicate that flipbook media are predominantly developed using Research and Development (R&D) approaches, particularly the ADDIE and 4D models. Across the reviewed studies, flipbook media demonstrated a high level of feasibility, achieving an average expert validation score of 92.1% based on content, media, and language evaluations. The synthesized evidence also revealed positive effects on learning outcomes, with an average effectiveness rate of 86.87%. In addition, flipbook implementation was associated with improvements in students’ motivation and learning interest, with an average contribution of 76.88%. The educational benefits of flipbook media were attributed to their multimodal features, including the integration of text, images, audio, video, and interactive navigation, which support comprehension and learner engagement. Overall, the findings suggest that flipbook-based media represent a highly feasible and effective digital learning resource for enhancing learning outcomes and student engagement in Indonesian language education.
